6 Things to Take For Your Day Trip to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge

What should you pack for a day out on the town in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge?

There are six essential things that you can’t forget to pack and we’re going to make sure you’re prepared for everything.

  1. Walking Shoes

A good pair of walking shoes is imperative for your comfort throughout the day. Find a nice pair of sneakers or sandals with enough padding to give you support as you stroll the streets. Almost everywhere is walkable in downtown Gatlinburg and in Pigeon Forge you’ll be traversing a few miles as you walk between attractions.

  1. Layers of Clothing

Tennessee weather is known for being fickle. It can never make up its mind so come prepared with plenty of light layers. We suggest wearing a short sleeve shirt with a light pullover and then a sweater on top of that, depending on the season. If you are going in and out-of-doors you’ll be thankful for the ability to tug on a sweatshirt when you get a bit chilly.

  1. Water Bottle

Nothing is as nice as having a water bottle to carry with you as you go. Staying hydrated is vital on a regular basis but even more so when you’re strolling around town and embarking on numerous adventures all day long. Bring one that’s big enough to hold a good amount of water but also small enough to be easy to carry.

  1. Snacks

If you get hungry between meals pack a few snacks to have accessible throughout the day. There are a lot of fun restaurants in the area but with the amount of activity you’ll be doing having some extra food is a good idea. If you’re looking for something heavier check out this list of restaurants.

  1. Camera

Taking a trip with the ones you love the most isn’t something you can do every day. So capturing the moment while you’re in it is important. Bring along your camera or just make sure that your phone has enough storage. Trust us when we say that there will be plenty of photo opportunities that you won’t want to miss!

  1. Small Backpack or Bag

Last, but not least, don’t forget to bring a small backpack or bag to carry everything in. Choose one with a pocket for a water bottle and make sure that you have enough room to pack the trinkets and other things that you’ll find along the way. If you can, try to find one with adjustable straps so that you can take turns carrying the bag with others in your group.
